Environmental Health Officer (Commercial)/Covid-19 Officer
Contract 12 month Fixed Term Contact (with the possibility of
extension – funding permitting)
We are looking for a qualified EHO, with health and safety at work, food safety and infection control experience, to help us respond to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and to meet our other Environmental Health statutory duties. Working with colleagues across the Council and with partners from a range of external agencies, your role will be to help achieve positive public health outcomes through a range of advisory, investigative and enforcement activities.
In addition, to the COVID-19 response work, the successful applicant will be required to support the work of the Commercial Team across a range of functions depending on their experience and competency. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision, but also be a team player as the work dictates. A flexible approach to the work undertaken and the hours/location worked is a must to enable our fast changing service priorities to be met.
You will be supported by the Senior Environmental Health Officer (Commercial) and any necessary training will be provided.
