This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced District/Area/Senior Building Control Surveyor to join the Council’s Building Control Team.

You will join an efficient and pro-active team of professionals to ensure the continuation of a first class Building Control service

Surrey Heath Borough comprises of a mix of residential, high end residential and commercial developments within 36.5 sq miles.

We are looking for a part or fully qualified Building Control Surveyor to manage an area within the Borough and assist the team as a whole to maintain its current outstandingly high level of service. Duties will include ensuring decisions on applications are made within the statutory period, undertaking site inspections so that works carried out on site comply with the building regulations, inspecting Dangerous Structures, providing out of hours and office cover.

We are seeking applicants with a good level of literacy and numeracy together with excellent IT skills.  You will also need to be committed to delivering a first class customer focused service in a competitive environment and marketing the department and Local Authority Building Control (LABC)

The ability to make clear concise and accurate decisions on the spot and under pressure is essential. You will be a member of the RICS, CABE or CIOB. A current full driving licence and access to a car for business purposes are required, for which expenses will be paid.
