Single Homeless Support Officer
The Council is committed to preventing homelessness and supporting residents who have been homeless back to settle lives in our community.
To ensure that the right help is available the Council is launching a new Housing Support Service.
This service will:
- Deliver tailored floating housing support to residents who are at risk of losing their homes;
- Support people moving to independence set up their new home; and,
- Provide an accommodation based service for single homeless people who need a period of support before moving to independence.
Our floating housing support service, funded by Surrey County Council, will ensure people can remain living in their homes independently, help resolve housing crisis and give residents the skills and confidence to take control of their lives.
Our accommodation based service will provide 10 units of accommodation for single people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, offering a settled base for up to 2 years. In this time we will support then to access the services they need to move on to independence in the community.
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit to three new posts to deliver this service. The right candidates will be excellent communicators, committed to delivering person- centered support, and able to work with a range of vulnerable clients in their homes to deliver positive housing, health and personal outcomes.
We are looking for:
- Housing Support Team Leader – you will be responsible for managing the delivery of the service and carrying a small case load of your own
- Floating Support Officer – working with residents in their homes to identify housing support needs and develop a personal support plan
- Single Homeless Support Worker – supporting 10 residents in our accommodation project and managing the accommodation on a day to day basis
