Surrey Heath Borough Council is looking to recruit a Solicitor or Legal Executive to join the Legal Services team based in Camberley. The role is suitable for a commercial property solicitor or Legal Executive with over 2 years PQE.

 Over the last six years, the Council has acquired a commercial property investment portfolio worth £124m in order to increase income to help maintain services and to further its regeneration plans for the borough, current focused on Camberley. The Council now owns a range of properties including two shopping centres, various industrial estates, business parks and office buildings as well as its operational buildings and other land.

The work will involve a wide range of non-contentious commercial property matters, which will principally include landlord and tenant work relating to the investment property portfolio, but will also include reporting and advising on proposed development sites, dealing with acquisitions and disposals of properties and providing advice on other Council related matters.

The Council is looking for a candidate who can progress asset management and other property and Council related matters under the supervision of one of the Principal Solicitors. Applications from Solicitors or Legal Executives with a private practice background or from Solicitors or Legal Executives with local government knowledge and experience are welcomed.
