Salary Range: £24,166 - £28,388
Hours: 37 per week (part-time considered)
Contract: Permanent
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and well organised team player to join us in delivering a professional and exceptional Revenues and Benefits service to the public.
As a Benefits Assessment Officer, your main role will be to assess Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction accurately and within performance deadlines, as well as dealing with customers both face to face and on the telephone.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support processing and a good working knowledge of current legislation in Housing Benefit. Although not essential, experience of Northgate Iworld systems would be an advantage along with the knowledge of a document imaging system. However, full training and support will be provided for the successful candidate.
You must be reliable, confident and able to work under pressure. You will have experience of dealing with customer enquiries both in person and on the telephone.
