Single Homeless Support Officer
1 Year Fixed Term Contract
30 hours per week
The Council is committed to preventing homelessness and supporting residents who have been homeless back to settle lives in our community.
To ensure that the right help is available the Council launched a new Housing Support Service in August 2020.
This service:
- Delivers tailored floating housing support to residents who are at risk of losing their homes;
- Supports people moving to independence set up their new home; and,
- Provides an accommodation based service for single homeless people who need a period of support before moving to independence.
Our accommodation based service will provides 10 units of accommodation for single people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, offering a settled base for up to 2 years. In this time we will support then to access the services they need to move on to independence in the community.
We are looking for someone to work with residents in their journey towards to independence and to settled lives in the community.
The right candidate will be excellent communicator, committed to delivering person- centered support, and able to work with a range of vulnerable clients in their homes to deliver positive housing, health and personal outcomes.
