Head of Legal & Democratic Services

If so, our Head of Legal and Democratic Services role is perfect for you.
You will bring to the Council a strong track record of public service, technical experience and a desire to work together in a leadership team to see the Council succeed in the delivery of services for our residents. You will be able to demonstrate working closely with Councillors in sometimes difficult situations and using your negotiation and influencing skills to ensure that the Council is properly governed within the law, the constitution and the appropriate conduct standards.
You will act as the Council’s Statutory Monitoring Officer and Chief Legal Officer and Chief Information Officer, ensuring that the Council meets legal and regulatory requirements and that the Council is demonstrating good governance in decision making and operation. You will enjoy running a successful and thriving service which continues to develop their professional practice.
Your contribution as part of the Council’s top team will be as important as your professional legal expertise. We will look to you to not only embody and champion our values but also to play a full part in supporting the leadership and direction of the Council.
